How To Clean and Store Plastic Plates

Plastic plates are a great alternative to traditional ceramic or glass plates, as they are lightweight, durable, and easy to clean. Due to its affordability and convenience, many people wonder if they can reuse their plastic plates. As FDP we recommend disposing your party plates because they are intended for one-time use only. However, if you would like to extend the lifespan of your plastic products, we recommend you do it carefully. Proper cleaning and storage of plastic plates can help to maintain their appearance and can extend their lifespan.

Here are some tips on how to clean and store plastic plates:

Cleaning Plastic Plates:

  1. Rinse the plates under warm water to remove any food debris or residue.
  2. Apply a small amount of dish soap to a sponge or soft-bristled brush, and gently scrub the surface of the plates to remove any stains or discoloration.
  3. Rinse the plates thoroughly with warm water to remove any soap residue.
  4. Dry the plates with a clean cloth or let them air dry before storing.

Avoid using abrasive materials like steel wool or harsh cleaning chemicals, as these can scratch or damage the surface of the plastic plates.

Storing Plastic Plates:

  1. Ensure that the plates are completely dry before storing to prevent the growth of mold or bacteria.
  2. Place a layer of paper towels or napkins between each plate to prevent them from scratching or sticking together.
  3. Store the plates in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
  4. If stacking the plates, avoid stacking too high to prevent them from becoming misshapen or damaged.
  5. If storing the plates for an extended period, consider placing them in an airtight container or plastic bag to prevent dust or debris from accumulating on them.

By following these simple steps, you can keep your plastic plates looking their best and extend their lifespan. Proper cleaning and storage can help to prevent discoloration, scratches, or warping, ensuring that your plastic plates remain a great alternative to traditional ceramic or glass plates. However, we do not reccomend doing this multiple times and reusing the same plastic products over and over again.
